REST IN PEACE

REST IN PEACE

Everyone is still alive—no one has died.  Everyone is still alive!

I have just been thinking about how people say, “Rest in Peace,” when people have passed away.  Illness, Old Age, Unexpected Events—no matter the reason and no matter what you believe spiritually, all will agree that people who have physically left this world rest in peace.  No longer subjected to the trials and tribulations of the world, there is peace.  But why must Resting in Peace be limited to the dead?

The Bible says that there is no rest for the Wicked.  How about Rest for the Caregiver?

I would love to Rest…

Rest is defined as Peace, Ease, Refreshment and to be Free from Anxiety.  All things I would like to feel on a regular basis.

Rest without my Mom’s television blasting All Night Long!

Rest without having to Cook, Clean or Perform various activities for my Mother.

Rest without wondering what I must to next.

Rest and just watch movies, read, talk to my friends on the phone or listen to music.

Rest knowing that I do not have to do anything, go anywhere, or talk if I don’t want to.

Rest without worrying about whether my Mom has dropped something, spilt anything, or fallen.

Rest without explaining to people who consistently say, “Get some Rest,” that “getting some rest” for a Caregiver is seemingly impossible.

I would love to Rest!

I would love to Rest…in Peace!

However, this Caregiver will settle for a nice long knap!
