HOME ALONE with THE CAREGIVER

THE CAREGIVER IS HOME ALONE
HOME ALONE

Today, I find myself “Home Alone.” I am home alone and loving it!  My Mother is in New York visiting my Brother.  I told you that I wasn’t an “Only Child. “

What to do—what to do?  That is the question that I ask myself.

I could invite people over for a get together or even a party.  But that would kind of defeat the purpose of being home alone.  It would also require cooking, serving and cleaning up after said people.  Even if I order Pizza or Thai.  That doesn’t sound like a good idea.

I can take naps in between Lifetime or TCM Movies.  But that is an activity I generally save for rainy weekends.  And also, BORING!

Maybe, I should act like I’m in a Tom Cruise movie and Dance around the living room in my Underwear and Sunglasses.

I could invite my Imaginary Boyfriend over except that all of our encounters take place in the playground in my mind.  Therefore, he can come over anytime close to never.

Or maybe I should talk on the phone for hours on end without interruption.  Except, I don’t really have anything to talk about since up until 24 hours ago, Caregiver was me.

I am home alone so I can cook what I want, when I want, to eat or not to eat.

I can decide to go through the entire day in a purple haze or hang out at the local Tavern (I told you that it is a small town) for as long as I want.

I can catch up on what’s going on in my world of emails, texts, and voicemails.

Perhaps, I will Read, Write, pretend that I’m Hemingway.

Or Dance, Dance, Dance

I can think out loud and create the next scene, write the next chapter or whisper the musings of a poem.

I can…

Do Nothing!

Do Lunch!

Do Me!

Dance as if no one is watching.

No one is watching…

I am Home Alone!
