A FORMER 1ST LADY ON CAREGIVING

ROSALYNN CARTER ON CAREGIVING…

Rosalynn Carter is the Wife of President Jimmy Carter and served as 1st Lady of the United States from 1977-1981.

The Former 1st Lady had this to say regarding “Caregiving:”

“There are only four kinds of people in this world: those who have been caregivers; those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers,”

At this time, President Carter is in Home Hospice Care and Mrs. Carter has been diagnosed with Dementia.  The Family has issued a statement saying:

“The universality of caregiving is clear in our family, and we are experiencing the joy and the challenges of this journey. We do not expect to comment further and ask for understanding for our family and for everyone across the country serving in a caregiver role.”

The Carter Family statements acknowledge an understanding of a Caregiver’s Conscience.

In support of the continuing WGA “Writers’ Strike,” with a rallying cry of “Pencils Down!” the Blog contains no newly written material and is featuring a Podcast Episode from “A Caregiver’s Conscience.” Podcast Episodes are produced using previously written and published Blog entries.
