CAREGIVER GONE WILD!
WHEN I GO OUT…
When I go out, my main objective is to leave my Caregiver’s Cares and Concerns behind me.
I don’t want to think about anything that remotely relates to Caregiving.
When I go out, Flushable Wipes, The Grocery Store and the TV that blast All Night Long are the furthest things from my mind.
I make a concentrated effort to live in the moment—the moment where I am not a Caregiver.
I don’t talk about my day, my week, or my Mother!
And if someone else brings any of those things up in the conversation, I quickly change the subject.
When I go out…
I drink as if I’m not the designated Driver.
I drink Apple Martinis instead of Wine because I can!
I enjoy someone else’s company other than my Mom.
I listen to the Band, the Sound System or the Jukebox and Dance, Dance, Dance!
When I go out…
I leave the Caregiver’s Day to Yesterday.
I focus on enjoying the night and have hope for Tomorrow.
When I go out…
I party like it’s 1999 and I’m a Rock Star.
I act like a Caregiver with NO Conscience!
And I Dance, Dance, Dance!
When I go out, the title of the movie in which I’m starring becomes, “Caregiver Gone Wild!”
“JUKEBOX”
Disclaimer: I can count the number of times that I’ve gone out on one hand and have fingers left over!
